0/0 WING FAT Fish Dealers, haukiwan, of Hong kong, states:-

I am the master of the above junk. On board I had

a crew of four.

On the 17th October, 1939, at 05.00 hours with another

two junks Nos. wknown, owned by my two brothers CHKNG CHAU

KIT and CHENG CILAU KWAI bound for HAK NGAAM KOK to fish. At

about 18.00 hours on the 18th October, 1989, I saw a Japanese

trawler come from the south-east. The trawler when approach-

ing fired shots at my junk. We all then jumped overboard and

waded ashore, The Japanese then set fire to my junk and

sailed towards another junk owned by CHENG CHAU KWAI. His

crew also jumped overboard and waded ashore. The Japanese

set his junk on fire. CHENG CHAU KIT sailed his junk to-

wards the shore and the Japanese fired after him. He and

his crew waded ashore and his junk was set on fire. A few

hours later a fishing junk No. unknown picked us up and con-

veyed us to NAM 0. The following morning at 06.00 hours the

junk sailed for Shaukiwan arriving at 11.00 hours. I came

with my two brothers to Water Police Station et 17.50 hours

and reported.
